Ahhhhhh! I am freaking out that I come home in like 6 weeks! Crazy! I told my mission President and he told me to work, work, work! So that is what I have been doing! I have been trying to open my mouth to everyone I see trying to relate something they say back to the gospel! It gets really awkward sometimes, but that's ok. We got transfer calls and I am staying in the River Ridge ward but Sister Guthrie is leaving! I am SO sad! She has been an awesome companion and friend and I will miss her a lot!
I know I haven't written a weekly for a LONG time but there hasn't been much too say... We have been trying to find people to teach but no one has been too interested so far. A lot of people have disappeared not reaching back to us so it's kinda sad but we are getting through it! We have been helping members clean and we helped paint a house! It was fun! The other day we walked all over town contacting potentials and none such luck. We did run into this super fun family who said we could come back. So we are excited!
So we are teaching this elderly member who got baptized a couple of years ago. After she got baptized she had a stroke and a couple of brain surgeries and the result of that she forgot all that the Missionaries had taught her. Since then she has been inactive because she was so sick, but recently we have been teaching her the lessons and helping her keep those commitments so she can enter into the temple. She said that her ancestors are waiting and keep telling her to help them. She is getting her temple recommend soon and we are so excited for her!!!
This week we had to go to a doctors appointment for Sister Guthrie. The wonderful sister Thompson (Mission Presidents wife) took us there. She is like my role model! She is amazing, and here's why. We were in the waiting room and she starts talking to this guy with a cast on his foot. Apparently he got in a bad motorcycle accident a few days before and was here to check out his foot. Before Sister Thompson could share anything he was called away into the doctors room. She was saying to us that she had wished she had more time with him so she could give him a pass along card. We are in one if the rooms and he is in the room next to us. We got everything figured out and so we start driving home. Well, she said that she wished she would have and she says "were going back!" We turn around and go back into the parking lot and he is just getting into his car. She starts talking with him and gives him a card and he starts talking about his deceased dad who visited him in a dream a few nights ago and he told him "what now?" While he shook is broken foot. He started getting teary eyed and said thanks. We were able to get his address and hopefully send Missionaries down his way! It was amazing how she followed her impression she had to share the gospel! It was so cool! Sorry for the long story!
I just love this Gospel so much! My mission has been so amazing and I can't wait what more it has in store for me!
