July 22, 2019: Cherries!!!!

Hello!

Ok something amazing is happening! An apostle is coming to our mission! We don't know which one it will be but I may or may not have my favorites ;) Just kidding! I just am so excited! The mission is preparing like crazy! We had zone confrence this past week and it was so good! We were talking all about preparing for an apostle. We are getting excited! Haha! This week we had a lesson with Rochelle. She is the sweetest. She is a single mom and she is so ready for the gospel. The only thing holding her back is that she works on sundays.

As for the cherries, so the past couple of months I have had an intense craving for cherries. I may or may not have complained to the sisters once or twice about it. ;) I would see them on the trees outside and want one so badly! But this week the other sisters brought us this big bowl of cherries that a member gave them! Then the next day a member brings us dinner and a big bag of cherries! I know this might sound silly but it was one of those moments where the Lord knows us each so well! Haha!

This week we got to teach this really awesome lady named Jenn! The sisters referred her over to us and we stopped by and she had ALOT of questions for us. We were there for about an hour and a half trying to answer them. She is was actually curious! She asked about what we do as missionaries and what we believe in. The spirit was so strong too! Well, we stop by for our next appointment and she said she was busy and to come back the next day. We stop by and her friend answers the door and says that Jenn doesn't want anymore stop by's. We asked if we could talk to Jenn, she said she was on the phone then slammed the door. It was so sad! We are hoping to get in contact with her when her friends not home. Hehehe.

Anyway! This past couple of weeks have been good! It has been getting hot and then dreary and rainy. So I kinda like it! I was looking at pictures from a year ago today and it was 110°! Ah! I'm so glad it's not that hot now! Haha! It's been good! We have been keeping busy! I hit my 15 month mark this week too! Ah! That's a scary thought!

I've had the time of my life out here though! It's been the greatest thing that I could have ever done. I know that this gospel brings happiness, I know Jesus Christ lives. I know that we can find lasting happiness in this gospel. I love you all and hope you all have a good week!

I know I am the worst It's been a while since I last sent a weekly. Hopefully you all had a wonderful week and a great 4th of July! This past 4th was my 15th month mark! Ah! How crazy is that! I feel like I cam out yesterday. Its so weird.

4th of July
Alright so the 4th was a party. The only sad thing about it was that we had to wait a week and a half for Pday. We had pday on the 4th! It was quite interesting. We got together with our group of missionaries and had a BBQ at the park by the church. It was so fun! We then went home and we had some very creative over the stove S'mores! Haha! We then stayed in and did some weekly planning.

Quick doctor trip!
This week we were helping out at camp comia and we were organizing bricks onto a palate. As we were doing so one of the sisters was placing them on the palates and we were all tossing them into a pile of them. Well, an accident happen and a brick lands on the sisters hand. She thought it was fine at first because she had gloves on and she took it off and it was purple, swollen and bloody. We go to the doctors and they fix it up and it wasn't broken just badly bruised! She has to wear a brace thing on her finger for a while but you can say that we are NOT going to throw bricks no more!

Manito!
So this week a got to spend a day in the manito area while Sister Hailstone was in a meeting. I was with sister Brunton. She is the cutest sister! When we walked in there they told us they had a mouse problem and they asked sister hailstone if she would be able to take care of one because they heard she grew up on a farm.(She only had a couple of chickens) Anyway so she picked it up and got it out of the trap. It was so gross! I hate mice, with a passion. Anyway we got to street contact at Manito park. We gave a couple of book of Mormons away which was cool! The park was so pretty! We also did service at this assisted living. We played bean bag baseball with them! It was so fun!

Sister Hailstone
I just remembered I haven't introduced her to you guys yet! She is super sweet! She is the 4th of 9 kids! She is from Cedar City UT! Her family owns a pizza place down there too! She needs to make me a pizza sometime! Haha!

Gary
He is a person we are teaching. Cool story, so we hadn't seen him for a while and didn't know how interested he was. He stop by and he started talking to us and we asked him when a good time was for a lesson and he said now was good. So we sit in the grass and start teaching him a little. He said that he would love to come to church with us! So he did! The next day he was at church! He liked it a lot and he accepted a soft baptismal invite!

Rochelle
She is also another person we are teaching. She is the sweetest ever. She is currently a single mom and she is struggling with a lot. She said she would be baptized the only thing is that she works on Sundays. But she said if she can come to church and knows that it is true that she will be baptized.

Raspberries
So our landlord has a couple of Raspberry bushes and they are out of town for a couple of weeks so we have had fresh berries coming out of our ears! They had been so yummy too! Haha!

Davenport
This past week we got to go down to Davenport and knock doors down there! It was really cool to be in one of my old areas! Haha!

This past couple of weeks I have writing down everything that I study in the mornings. It has been really cool to see the progress I have been making when I study and its been blessing to my life already. I know that as we study Gods word and we learn for ourselves we will be able to receive special spiritual guidance that he wants us to know. He loves us and wants us to know this gospel for ourselves. I know that our Heavenly Father loves us and he wants what is best for us. Have a great week!
