Week 21: 40 friends!

Hello! I hope you all had an awesome week! So today we got our transfer calls and I am staying with sister Hawkins for another transfer! Yay! This week we have had a lot of service. We have also found 40 new friends this transfer! It's so amazing to see how the Lord prepares people!

So Monday we went to buffalo wild wings for lunch as a district. One of the Elders decided to do the blazen challenge. Where you eat 12 of their hottest wings in 6 minutes. He finished in 2:59 seconds. It was the funniest thing I've seen on my mission. I felt so bad for him but at the same time it was so funny! Then a member congratulated him and paid for all of our meals. It was really neat. After P-dat we had a complex BBQ. We were afraid that no one would come because of the smoke. So we did it one of the empty apartments. Only 2 people came so we started knocking on doors and we took orders and took the food to them. We then started talked to people across the street to see if they would go. We started talking to these girls and they talked with the missionaries before! Haha! Blessings!

Tuesday we went and saw Dee and she is so funny. We tried to teach her but she talked for 2 hours instead! Haha! She gave us these really cute elephant necklaces, it was really sweet of her. We went and saw Bob and Fran. They have been investigating the church for a long time. They know that the church is true just there kids are not happy with it and they're afraid they will loose there family because of it. So were just praying for them. We then had east valley Coordination. We then got $2 tacos at cafe Rio. Haha! Then a member paid for our meal! Haha! That day when we got home sister banks( one of the senior missionaries) gave me some Oreos! It was the nicest thing ever!

Wednesday we did a demolition derby type service. We were knocking down walls and ripping up carpet with the Elders. It was really fun, although while sister Hawkins was knocking down a wall a piece of wood flew and hit her head. She got a nice bump of her head. After that the lady we were doing this for she naught us lunch and gave us a $25 gift card to her Boutique down the street. It was really neat! We then helped the Elders with a less active do his yard.
We then had newmen lake coordination. We saw some less active families. We stayed at the Wright's house that night so we can stay out in newmen lake longer.

Thursday we went back to the demolition derby house to finish taking up the carpets. Then we got to go to the temple! Yay! It was really neat. The temple is just amazing.

Friday we went to the lady with the fleas and tried to get rid of them again. This time she didn't have a kennel for the cats so while sister Hawkins has washing them I kept them in the kitchen. Trying to block them in with a bunch of stuff. The cats attacked sister Hawkins. One clawed her chest. It was not pleasant. Then the Elders came and helped with one cat while we did the dogs. We one dog is having allergic reactions to the fleas so half of his fur is gone. It's really sad. Although it's going to be worth it because she is progressing she is loving the book of Mormon!

Saturday we had exchanges! And sister Dobrovoskca had strep throat. So she had to stay isolated for 48 hours. So we stayed inside all day. We did a lot of texts. Haha! And studies! I memorized D&C 4.

Sunday we went to see the Crapo family before church to invite them to come and brother Crapo was is in the hospital. It was sad to hear. We went to church. We then went to go see the bishop at the newmen lake. We had a conversation on how we can work better together then we went to see this couple who just moved in by the lake. The boyfriend is a member but his girlfriend isn't so we talked to them and there getting married on the 6th. She wants to hear the disscusions! Yay!

This week has been a really good week! We've had a lot of blessings and it's really amazing to see the love the savior has for everybody!

Week 20: Missionary life...

Hello!!! So this P-day is cut short because were going to the temple on Thursday! Yay! I'm so excited!

Monday we went bowling with the district. It was so fun, even though I lost last place. Haha! It was still really fun! We then went to play softball and that was fun too! After p day we went and saw a less active that we didn't know he was a member. We invited him to church and he didn't come.

Tuesday we went and saw Jordan. We taught him the plan of salvation and he got a little choked up when we told him he could see his uncle again. That was really a special moment. That night we stayed at a members house so we didn't have to use a lot of miles.

Wednesday the members we stayed at fed us breakfast which was really nice of them to do. We did service for the community who feds children during the summer. After that we were knocking on doors before dinner and this guy was cussing at us saying were full of crap and to grow up. That Kind of shocked me a little. So we walked for a little bit. Then this lady that a couple of weeks ago we stoped at her house and she gave us water and chairs to sit on, she pulls up and tells us to get in the car. She said we were crazy for walking in the heat with dresses. It was really funny. She gave us water and drove us to our dinner. Haha! She also offered us to a gate code for a private pool and we said we couldn't. Then she asked what if she pushed us in. We couldn't help That! Haha!!!

Thursday we did weekly planning. We then went and saw this one guy who lives by the church. We talked to him. He is really cool. We then had dinner at the Banks. A senior couple that works in the office. It was there last time feeding us before they go home. It was Kind of sad. Then we passed out flyers for the BBQ were hosting tonight. So Yay!

Friday we had district meeting! Then we went to Costa vida and a member paid for our meal! It was so nice! We then saw a couple of people.

Saturday sister Hawkins and Sister Dobravulsca ( I think that's how you spell it) went and did Russian work. So sister Brandow and I went and worked in our areas. We had a church tour with Mary. Who she is the sweetest lady ever! She just loves us but doesn't love our church. So it doesn't make sense but I will take it.  We then exchanged back and went and saw Mary parks. A different Mary. Her mom is deaf so we were learning signs from her. It was cool!

Sunday was a day of disappointments. We invited a lot of people to church and none of them showed up! It was sad! After the Newman lake ward we were so hungry. We asked Brother McComb's if he would make us pb&j's before church and he did! Haha! He's the best! After church we went to go see the mom with the animals and the fleas. Yep they have fleas again.... and were going back.... to do it all again. Yay!  Then we had a meeting with the mission president about the Russian work. I don't have a say in this but, I think that it's really cool and it would be awesome if they started a Russian branch.

So my week has been a long one but it's been good. After every trial there is a greater blessing. Love all of you!

Week 19: "I know evrthang about your John Smith"

People in Washington say evrthang instead of everything or Warshington. Haha!

Monday was a hectic day. The Banks (one of the senior office missionaries) wanted to take us to Coeur d'Alene to get a gooey at 4. We got huge gooeys. I got the chocolate one and it was so big that we had to put some to go and there was still some left over! So we had to get everything done before that. Then we get a text from sister Thompson to be the missionaries for this video for zone conference. We had to be there at 2:30. We were the examples of being bad missionaries and staying inside our car and not talking to people. She had the Elders be the good missionaries that walk and talk to people. It was super cheesy and the whole mission saw it.

Tuesday we had zone conference. It was really neat. We had to drive all the way to  Coeur d'Alene for it. So there goes our miles! Haha!

Wednesday we drove to Newman lake then rode our bikes everywhere. We asked this one lady for water and she pulled out 2 chairs and gave us water bottles. It was so nice of her. She also gave us referrals to go see in the neighborhood and she isn't even a member! It was really nice of her. We also helped the Elders do service for a less active.

Thursday we had weekly planning. We then went tracting around.

Friday we had exchanges and I was with sister Brandow. We went and saw Dee and gave her a lesson. We then saw Steven, and he said he found a different church. We said something that wasn't meant to offend, but did and he went back in his apartment. We will go back later with some cookies. We then went to the church and there was this guy that was walking his dog. We stopped him and talked to him and he said he was a lifer and he said that we were a cult. Then he also said "I know evrthang about your John Smith". Haha!!! I about died inside! Poor sister Brandow you could tell she was a little upset. He also said we didn't believe that Jesus Christ was the son of God. Oh brother. We told him that we are just here to put a smile on people's faces and that it was nice to meet him. We then had a lesson with Gavin but he wasn't home so I had the feeling to knock on the door across the street. This little old lady welcomed us in gave us water and we gave her a lesson. She loved it and we're giving her a church tour on Saturday!

Saturday we helped a member move his wood that was in their front yard. We then had a lesson with Jordan! We finally got in contact with his mom again and he is on date for baptism!!! Yay!!!

Sunday's are so hard. They are long and exhausting. They are so important though. We went to the Newman lake ward in post falls. We then had dinner at the Wright's. They are so nice they give us raspberries all the time! We the had a lesson with Kayla. She is the bishops foster daughter and she wanted to learn more. We gave her a lesson and it was so powerful and spiritual. She loved it. We gave her a book of mormon and asked her to read it and pray about it. We then went to go see a potential by the lake and the lake was so pretty. I wanted to jump in it so bad, but I didn't. Haha!

Well this week a lot had happen and transfers are half way! That's crazy! This week in my studies I have been able to really focus on the Savior and how he taught. He was the perfect example and I'm so thankful for that. I know that he lives and loves everyone of us and knows exactly what you are going through. I hope all of you have a great week!
